i have 4 snakes total; 2 ball pythons, 1 California king snake and a dwarf Nicaraguan boa. Snakes are easy just a pain getting them rats every time to feed instead of breeding and keeping your own which i tried and absolutely didnt want to ever do again its a mess. Some snakes are picky too, they will only want live prey. Some will want you to make the rat dance practically or not be interested, some will want it to just be dropped in and left alone. My Boa is in a 4ft pvc enclosure, ball pythons are in reptile glass aquariums one being a 20 L and one being a 40 breeder, king snake is in a 3ft pvc enclosure. Each have heat mats set on thermostats and heater emitting bulbs in fixtures to keep temps right. Snakes dont like being handled they put up with it because they realize you are their food source and water source. They require a cooler and hotter side so they need two hides, a water bowl, heating sources and substrate. My king snake is the smallest of all my snakes and is the only snake that bit me...which felt like a clothes hanger on my thumb lol. Snakes are cool and pretty easy to take care of but they can live upwards of 30+ years and that in itself should determine whether you want one if you cant see yourself entertaining a snake for 30 years probably not an ideal candidate for a reptile to keep. Other than that they are fun and have they interesting and funny moments.

I had an emerald tree boa for about a year but he had developed that digestive disease which they are prone for and ended up dying which was terrible. Have not gotten the guts to setup another tank for another emerald boa. I use to keep all kinds of reptiles and amphibians too the poison dart frogs are my all time favorite but constantly breeding live fruit flies for them to eat is quite tiresome.

I used to own a bunch of snakes. Even ran a rescue back when we lived in Ohio. Now I currently have 22 Tarantulas and a pair of crested geckos. Will eventually get back into snakes down here in Florida. Just a lot of loopholes to jump through.

I currently have a CB coastal rosy boa. When I lived in the Midwest I had a virtual zoo. Lavender albino Cal king, Florida king, Sinaloan king, rescue ball python, Savannah monitor and a couple Brazilian blacks (tarantulas). Recently my son got into tarantulas, so we have three slings, Nicaraguan curly hair, mex red knee and Chaco golden knee. He just bought a female zebra knee. My favorite snake is an old school Chondro / green tree python.

This dude is a Single man for sure :p
Haha no I'm not. But when we first started dating I had 4 of them that she didnt know about. I did ease her into it by getting her a baby one so she could raise it. She enjoyed it until it got about 4 feet long. They have their own heated room in a far off section in the basement.

We need a picture of this!
No we do NOT! Lol. Or I will defo have nightmares!

Im still recovering from this, and I was at the actual island in May 2019, but didn’t know this is were they lived!

That's scheduled for Monday...
When I was a kid, I was more into reptiles and had some snakes. But when I got older I found it was harder to keep a girlfriend with snakes than without... Funny enough we also had a Bactrian when I was a kid, they tend to have a different effect on girls.
