DIY algae scrubber in my old trickle filter. It's functioning pretty good if the measure is Hair Algae growth. The issue I'm running into is the amount of coraline algae is so prevelant it's starting to block light by 50% and I have to keep scraping it. Ironically, I have almost none in the actual tank. In the scrubber I scape and scrape with my finger nails. Space is limited is there a better scraping method that won't scratch the acrylic?

As far as reducing coraline growth,To Much Light?

If you can take it out make a mix in a bucket of half water half muriatic acid. Melts the off like butter.
