First picks of black tang. After 2-5m fresh water dips for total of 10m, nothing dropped off. Looks bacterial including the long nose area. Thoight

On separate tank have been dealing with lots. One of the issues is dots/blemishes on fins. Pic’s of zebra tang and Linespot trig refers. Also blemishes on side of female scribble. They all have been through multilpe 30 day copper treatments, prazi and even ABX. They do glass surf and flash a bit at times but eat well and other wise look ok.
At my wits end with all this….

You’ll only see one of the three common types of flukes in dip water unless you use a microscope.

I can’t find the other thread, but there was one, right? If you can, it would be best to upload this post there - keeps all the information in one place so that we don’t cover old ground.

Im not convinced on flukes while I dont discount it, Im believing this may be as simple as stress spots or even skin irritations often associated with tangs

Had exact same thing happened to my scopas tang . the below photo was after being in quarantine for six months and after being treated with copper and Prazi . Finally took a chance and put him in display tank the turn around was dramatic . in about two days he went from not eating and discolored to a beautiful ravenous fish once again.

Vetteguy diagnosed stress in my Scopas tang and he turned around only by putting him in to more natural surroundings.

Good luck ,I know you’ve put your heart into that prized fish.

Maybe take a step back from the fish and get them in as natural of a habitat as you can. Setup an observation tank with some rock and suck to give them a safe feeling, and dim the lights/avoid the tank for a few days other than feedings. No flashes or sudden movements. I bet the turn around.

As for the first tang, I’d probably treat with kanaplex as a good measure if not eating. Also place with rock and good hiding spots.

I would NEVER keep a new PBT in QT without coppersafe. The old joke is, “does my PBT have ich? And the answer is always YES!

When I was a public aquarium curator I went for 20 years with not acquiring PBT because of this and because ionic copper is so difficult to use. I only started getting them again when I switched to coppersafe.

The black tang stopped eating today.
I think it would be really helpful if you could write a detailed summary like 1. I bought a tang, and QT'd using xx protocol
2. I bought a pair of clowns, etc etc

You mention multiple freshwater dips - which are usually not done for 2 minutes - 5 minutes - but as long as tolerated (within reason). Second you mention multiple copper treatments (30 day treatments) - that alone can cause abnormal behavior, skin irritation, etc. Have you added any new fish or did you put all of these into a QT at the same time. I think you should back up and observe at least until things seem worse, because your interventions may be doing more harm than good.

When you did the copper treatments - did you keep the levels at >2? <2.5
