I have a 30 gal BioCube in the midst of going fallow. Attached is a video of the corals in the tank. Based in the vid I have some questions.

1) The Xenia are getting out of control. Best way to "cut back"?

2) No matter what I do I can't get the water crystal clear. There is always particulate matter floating in it. I use the inTank filter tower and bio towers in the back rather than the standard bio balls. I change the filter floss every 3 days and it is dirty every time. Where is the particulate matter coming from? Especially with no fish in the tank for 4 weeks now. I also notice the draw at the vents isn't very strong with the standard pump so I've gotten a large one to install and see if that helps.

3) I am seeing purple Coralline algae starting to form. That's good, right? Tank is about 6 months old total.

4) Near the end of the vid you can see white spots on the back wall of the tank. Looks almost like large salt crystals in places. Any idea what this is? Has only appeared in the last week or so.
