Woke up this morning and checked in as it has been acting funny hiding in the corner. It looks like something took a bite out of the side or got scrapped up! Any ideas?

It could be an injury, but it's certainly infected. Was this hole there yesterday? Can you remove her to QT for antibiotics?

What kind of crabs? I have cleaner shrimps but no crabs I know of. I think it is a goner - the entire fin is ripped out.

First time I saw the damage. Looked fine yesterday but was hiding in a corner. Will try and capture to treat but it is an extensive wound. Between the finicky eating and damage it doesn't look good. I'm concerned that something is going to start damaging all my fish.

Any other losses or damaged things? Anything in a new location not done by you?

I did put a rock in the DT from the sump but I don't think it was near and could cause that much damage.... **** this sucks.

I was just looking at the possibility of a nasty hitchhiker.
Any wave maker pumps? I lost a couple fish to my vortech pumps. Wondering if he was taking a break on one.

So you had a hermit that did this before? I have two Scarlett's and several smallish blue legs but they have tons to eat.
Yep. The wounds were quite a bit smaller. One the mandarin has passed I found the crab being dragged around by the scooter blennys tail it was holding. And yes I feed a lot too and didn't have many crabs.

Same exact thing happened to my Mandarin have no idea what it was but none of the other fish ever bothered him it was real weird. But I have seen this happen to other Mandarins too. I must say after the injury or whatever it was he lasted about a week.

Scarlet legs won't bother anything but look out for those murderous blue legs. And the bigger they get the worse they are and it doesn't matter how much they get to eat. Mine ate very well and still attacked new snails that came into the tank as well as older ones plus they would attack fish that slept close to the sand bed at night. I pick out all the blue legs as I find them. I only keep Scarlets and snails now. I'm sorry this happened to your mandarin:(
