I recently bought a pair of Spotcinctus Clownfish for my 25 gallon tank and unfortunately the smaller of the two didn't make it much past acclimation. The bigger one is alive and well, and eating voraciously.

It wasn't really my concern but the shop I bought it from said they will replace the Spotcinctus for free when they come in again. The only problem is they are relatively rare and I have no idea when that will be. The remaining clownfish is healthy but you can tell it was much happier/less intimated with company.

I'd like to at least add some fish that will act as dithers but also be long-term peaceful tankmates. I was looking at small damsels like Springeri but all the things I've read/watched suggest adding them last, which doesn't really work in this scenario.

TLDR; what peaceful fish would you add that to eventually be tankmates with a pair of Spotcinctus Clownfish?

Are you planning to add an anemone for the clownfish? Once it settles in that an addition (if you get a young male) could likely join the other in the nem for protection.

From what I have read, the Springerii damsel's are fairly calm tank mates, but the tank is small so??

I had thought about adding an Anemone, I have access to quite a few.

A pair of spotcintus clowns will likely claim the entire tank as their territory. You may be able to get away with a damsel, but I wouldn't push it.
