Yes. I've always had it running. The last time I changed this current batch was 6 weeks ago. Since I've taken the gfo reactor out if the sump, the polyps in the dying sps have started to come back out. I did hang a filter though and started running carbon so maybe it's that that is helping.
I'll wager $20 on the carbon. ;)
Easy test: turn the GFO back on.

Well...it's not the gfo. Came home from work yesterday and more sps have been effected. I'm running a hang on the back filter to run the carbon. I have a 55 gallon with a 10 gallon sump. I did a water change last night. I usually run 3 tablespoons of gfo and change it when I notice algae on the glass. I'm thinking that I should run the carbon in the reactor with gfo rather than the hob filter. Can anyone give me any advice on how I can do that? I have a phosban 150 reactor. Also, does anyone know if I can continue 10 gallon water changes daily it without any ill effects?

You cannot have both in the same reactor, the carbon will grind up. Get a seperate reactor or just put a carbon bag in your filter sock

I have a phosband 150. I have very limited room iny sump, so two reactors are out of the question. I tried the carbon in the filter socks method. Hope it works! Fingers crossed.

Dude I have ran carbon and GFO in the same reactor for several years. The reactor is full so nothing tumbles but it has worked flawlessly.
The only downside is you'll spend a little more on media...
You can always use the sponge filter to fill the void inside the cartridge.

So, this morning after staring at my coral for hours on end I spotted the new black blenny I added having a field day on my sps. Then I noticed that all the coral that seems to be effected is green. I think he's the culprit. Will be placing him in the sump to see if there is a connection.

I just had to remove a bicolor because he was destroying my sps. Even caught him nipping at some favias and chalice. I removed him from the tank and every single piece has bounced back. My tail spot is happy grazing on algae though. Hopefully he doesn't snap

Some blennies do eat sps. Tribal blennies will plow an acro in no time. Bicolor and black sailfin blennies are known to nip or eat sps too.
And to extent that, it's all a leopard blenny eats! Hence why you almost never see those in the hobby.

Well, the blenny has been in the sump for the past 24 hours and Im happy to report all sps is showing signs of life again. I can't believe how much damage he did in such a small amount of time. It's my own fault, I read that they were reef safe with caution. I just didn't think it would be THAT bad.

+1 on some Blenny's being coral hungry. My Black Sailfin Blenny had a taste for expensive Chalices.
