I've seen this in my corals. In my case, I think the issue was too low nutrients combined with high alk and bright light. Any time I get close to 8.0 alk, I see some white tips with the filaments. It looks like a sign of distress, not happy corals with growth. Interestingly, my PC Rainbow is the first to show it, and if I'm not mistaken, you show a pic of the same coral showing the same traits. Possibly take your alk down closer to 7.0?
And yeah, the PC Rainbow is definitely letting me know.

I'm going to adjust the dosers to allow alk to drop slowly to around 7.4-7.5. I removed one of the E5 bulbs. Added a P+ and I'm going to stop by a LFS tomorrow for a coral + to replace one of the purples. Seems a little red.

Also dosed No3.

Do you guys ever face increased nuisance algae with no3 dosing or high no3?

That is about my limit for changes in one go. Should have limited it a bit more but hey, let's see what happens.

If your tank is healthy of plenty bacteria you wouldn't see much if nothing in your tank.
Nitrate is a good food source for bacteria, the more of the more you balance your tank.
For myself I have to dose twice a day No3 for 12ml at the time to keep my No3 at 5ppm.
I also reduce the flow during the night into my skimmer as I have a Vectra M1 pump on the Lifereef skimmer, in that case I still have water going through my skimmer but it ain't skimming and by lights on the skimmer pump will go 100% and will skim for what is necessary.

I had the same problem with my pc rainbow and green milli. It always seem to happen at the beginning of my night cycle when the blues only are on, added nitrates to .5, lowered ph from 8.5 to 8.3, added 2 ml of a.a. at night, but the only thing different from you is that I lowered my alk from 8.7 to 8.1. End results of all that adjustment is new growth on my frags!! =) so I'm happy with it and will let them be just checking parameters every other day to see if there's any changes.
