Hi everyone,

I have a silly question, some of my corals are looking green, they used to be pinkish or redish, but they are looking really green now, it is especially obvious in the encrusting part, any ideas why?

To me it looks like the corals weren't getting enough nutrients/lights prior and are now able to use it to the fullest. I think the green is the color they're supposed to be....
The pink and reddish areas have less polyp extension....

Thank you, so am I hearing that greenish color is a sign of healthy corals? Sorry I like my corals alive but that red/pink color was much better than green

That's what I'm thinking from what I'm seeing. Do you know the "trade" names of the corals?

New growth is often not the same color as old tissue. The green will likely fade as it ages.

But. The 'red' you liked also looks like it was just browned out from bad lighting.

I have a TSA Fruity Pebbles colony that started reddish and has now become more green. It is 250-300 PAR and good flow .
I run up to 100% blue and 40% white for about 4 hours with Red Sea 90s
I have wondered if it needs more white.
Any thoughts.

Just to add or confuse, I noticed on my acros that they go green all over just before they explode in growth:

Same coral later on:

I think it is a good thing, also I didn’t adjust any light intensity.

Good luck,

Is that one of those expensive tenuis? Don't think that amount of par will cut it for the best coloration possible. Tenuis seem to be light lovers like Millie's, probably needs light for at least 12h with more hours of white at that par if you can even do it. Be careful, if you will raise pay attention to other corals and do it slowly. Also how long do tou have it? Sometimes you need to let it settle for a long time.

OP that acro looks like its gaining color, but those shaded parts seem really shaded badly, could you get more light coverage on it?

usually greening is associated with too much blue spectrum, not enough full spectrum/"white" light.
