Was wonder what everyone keeps
There stability at ??

1st off, welcome to R2R!!

Stability is all about keeping certain parameters in check will very lite fluctuation. The big ones that people are concerned with are Alkalinity, Calcium, Phosphate at to some extent, Nitrate.
Depending on what one is keeping, these numbers can vary to some extent as long as the animals being kept are thriving. Each system is different, but as long as things are stable, all is good with the world..

Stability is all about maintaining ‘stable’ water parameters as marine life don’t adept well to changes especially corals, so it’s about choosing your numbers and trying to keep them stable, but without chasing them

#WelcometoR2R...you said stability ....or did you mean salinity ..in which case its referring too amount of salt in water normally 1.026 ...unless you meant stability ..in that case see above posts..:D..happy reefing .!!

Thanks for the help. Yes I was mostly looking for what everyone keeps there parameters at when it comes to alkalinity and calcium. I have some yumas, chalices, zoas, kypronite(candy cane) that’s all doing great. But bought some sps had for a few days that don’t look so hot. Thanks again for the warm welcome.

Yes I keep mine at .027 - .028

Thanks. My alkalinity is at 8-9 but my calcium is close to 500 is that ok ? If not what’s the best way to decrease it. I dose every three days for 9 months now.

That is fine. 500 is on the top end side. If you are dosing calcium maybe do it every 4 days and see if it drops a bit if thats what you want.
8 to 9 swing on alk is a bit much of a swing. I would try top keep the swing around .2 Like 8.4 to 8.6

I use drops. Hard to tell on the . Is there a better test to use to be more accurate?

So your alk measures the same each time? When you said 8-9 i thought is was varying between the 2.
The best test kit I found is Hanna Alk test meter. It is expensive but easy and quick.
