Hey so I've had my sand sifting star for about a month now. I had recent ph spike but water parameters are back to normal. However my sand sifting star now has lost 3 limbs and looks kind of beat. I have no fish or anything that would have bothered him. All I have in my tank is blue legs hermits and snails. Any idea why he looks like this ? He is still actively moving around my tank ?

It is starving and will most likely die. The tank is either too small or too new to have the necessary benthic organisms to keep it alive. Losing limbs is a sign of starvation.

Thank you. He is a big boy and in my little nuvo 16. There is plenty of algae growth in my sand bed but for awhile he was hiding out in the back of my dt where there is tight spaces and not much sand.
