Hey guys and gals I have a question for you, my wife and I have been going back and forth on the stocking of our 75 gal mixed reef, we currently have 3 barletts fairy anthias, 2 midnight clowns, 2 blue green chromis, 1 Royal gramma, 1 coral beauty, and one pink stripe goby, plus various snails, crabs, and a snapping shrimp, I think we are about full up but id like your opinions, thanks a bunch!

sounds like you can add more if you think there's enough space for them. i have the same number of fish in a 50 gallon

overstocking seems to be basically:

-do you have enough nutrient export
-is there enough space in the tank for more fish

personally i'd say.. looks like the gramma is your only rockdweller type. lots of upper level swimmers with the anthias and chromis, maybe add a halichoeres wrasse or two? assuming you have sand

some other more cryptic fish might be cool too, maybe a non gramma basslet or some assessors

and a blenny or some blennies depending on the type you like would be cool

Any recommendations on the halichoeres, I see there is quite a few that fall into that genus, also I know there are more active swimming blennies as opposed to stary or lawnmowers, what do you think is best, and yes i do have a sand bed

https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/all-about-reef-safe-wrasses-in-aquaria.259894/

i'd scroll down to the halichoeres section and check those out, then see what you like the look of. i have biocellatus and chrysus and they're awesome, very invert safe for me so far, although neither have turned male. like the article mentions, the red line wrasse christmas wrasse and ornate wrasse can all look kinda similar as juveniles/females so you want to be a little careful with what you're getting. christmas and red line are good, ornate less so.

for blennies, i love my midas blenny. i also think the meiacanthus blennies are pretty cool. the meiacanthus ones are definitely more in the swimming variety, midas blenny does some swimming and some perching. a lot of the other blennies are more perching/rock based

as far as compatibility, i'm not overly sure, so i'd make a post in this thread
to make sure everything will coexist nicely

I would recommend upping the filter sock changes to every 3 days. Over time 5 days will give you some bad hair algae growth. I agree a Halichoeres Wrasse would be a good addition to the current setup as long as you have a sand bed.
