Hi Guys

Building a sump for an 8ft x 20in x 24in. I'm planning to build it as in the attachment, but would like your guys' input on it yet.

I want to have a large fuge, but going to find some way to keep the algae in there instead of meandering over to tech part (had that issue now with some chaeto) grrrr...

Anyways, hope you guys approve or have some constructive suggestions. Feel free to post pics as well.. :)

Very well laid out plan. I copied a poplar sump and made a couple of changes. Two things that I did was one to install a drain in the bottom of the sump for draining and easy cleaning. The other is I put in a overflow drain at the top of the sump the pipes into the sump drain with a vent for quick drainage. The overflow drain is a just in case, but if I did not have it I would have had an overflow on to the hardwood floor the first day I setup the sump
here is a picture of a much small sump but you can get the idea

Sehr gut Plan angelegt.

Thanks for the compliments. I do like the idea of a drain on the bottom, but am concerned a bit about a leak developing over time. The overflow is also good, but given the location of the aquarium it wouldn't matter if it overflowed... :)
