Sump sounds like a waterfall without filter socks

Any one have any ideas what I can put in their place to quiet the water falling down from the sock holder area?

Extend pvc pipe one inch under the water. If you have multiple drains like a bean and go too deep sometimes it won't resiphon if your pump goes off

I raised the water level in my sump to minimize it.
I’m assuming you have a drain area that fills and then flows over to the filter sock area?

I took plastic yogurt jars, cut the bottom off, made a slice down the length so I could control the size of the cone, and stuck those in. They help the water get down quietly, mostly.

The pipes drop into the water, but than flows over into the socks and drops into the refugium section.

Well, if you're trying to not use socks, you could just cut the bottom off the sock so the water flows down the sock into the water below.
