Not sure if this is proper forum, but hereby question. I have a new mixed RS Reefer 170 in my living room. In the afternoon about 4PM I get a narrow band of sunlight, about 18” wide, from high windows, that passes over my aquarium as the sun is setting. Will this have an adverse effect? Thanks

During the mid of the year my tank gets about 3+ hours of sun.
Sun is always good.

This time of year, I always get sunlight directly in my tank for about 1 hour. I think it looks beautiful. No extra algae growth and no issues really.

I am in the same situation. Depending on the time of year I get afternoon light creeping across my 180 gallon I am almost done setting up.

My tanks gets plenty of sunshine!

The blinds are closed in this pic, but are typically open.

The tank looks so natural when it’s lit by the sun before my lights come on.

Freshwater filter only or is it? Have you ever used an HOB filter on a saltwater tank?
