I'm looking for cost effective solutions to supplement or replace the Marineland Double Bright LED that came with my 27 gallon cube so that I can put some softies in it. I've been looking around eBay and have seen a bunch of different iterations of this BeamsWork brand.

Aquarium 78 LED Top White Blue Light 100-240V B-60-80cm | eBay

I know this is the wrong size for my tank, but I'm just using it for illustrative purposes. They look like a straight knockoff of Marineland. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of them?

The total power used by that device is 7 watts. Most LED aquarium lights use 3-watt LED's so that entire fixture is equivalent to 2 and 1/3 "good" LEDs.

That's what I suspected on both counts. I was on the verge of trying one out, so thanks for saving me from making that mistake.
