Sponges must love nitrates. It is getting hard to keep trimming this almost 18" blue sponge I have on one side of my tank. It started creeping up my bed last night. I thought it was my wife so I hugged it. But it was all cold, slimy and spongy smelling unlike my wife so I just said EEwe and threw it back in the tank

I guess you dreamed that you were getting a sponge bath? ;Woot

(sorry, that was bad)

Awesome looking sponge. I'd love to have something like that show up in my tank...maybe some day I'll be lucky enough to collect one that would survive.

I will be glad to give it to you but Virginia is a bit of a hike.
( I never sell any livestock , I rather give it away)

The move is going slow. I am not sure how a 5 month construction job could be 4 months over run already. I wish they would have just given me the land and I would have built the thing myself.

My knees had 5 operations like many people and there is no cartridge or meniscus left to operate on. I need knees but need the time for the therapy after and someone to care for my fish. Maybe in the winter.

The fingers is just arthritis filling the hole where the tendon slides. They have to open it up using probably a Dremmel:eek:
Arthritis sucks. My wife is only 52 and has already had one knee and both hips replaced. Rooster comb injections started on her "good knee," but that one won't last much longer. She also has problems with her lower back and has had 2 neck surgeries 5-6 years ago. I am 10+ years older and have no joint problems (yet), so I feel bad that she is going through all of this at such a young age.

I hope your knees hold up well enough to get you through the move and tank set up. Finger too. That's going to be a lot of work. Hope you have plenty of help lined up.

Fin, sorry about your wife, that sucks to see your wife suffer like that. Mine has MS and also has many problems. Last year she had a back operation where they inserted 2 rods. They just don't make women like they used to. :p
I am pretty good because it's only pain. I had my head replaced a few years ago, I used to look exactly like Tom Sellic.

BTW, I don't mean to downplay trigger finger, just having fun. I have a fishing buddy who had it on a couple fingers and it was quite painful for him. He had the surgery twice, and all is well now. So Paul, I hope the shots work and in the long run you will get relief from the surgery. Best wishes.

Thanks, the surgery is a piece of cake, as a matter of fact, the last one I had, the Doctor was eating cake all through the procedure. I had 16 operations but most were all from fun things like surfing. The rest were just from wearing parts out working. In commercial construction everything seems to be at least a thousand pounds. I once had to re build a NYC garbage incinerator. (five million bucks) One thing we had to do was to change the circuit breakers. I figured how hard can that be? You need a fork lift to take them out and put them back in. And believe it or not, they were also GFCIs.
We had to crawl into the breaker space to clean and grease the bus bars that they connect to. And we had to do that while they were alive. 480 volts.

They don't let you do that any more because a lot of construction now has become Sissy work where you are not allowed to work live any more.
It used to me MAN work. If you got hurt or croaked, thats the way it was.

It's like when I was in Viet Nam. You were expected to get hurt. Shrapnel hurts like, well, you know what. But it makes a Man out of you. If they were shooting Styrofoam bullets at you, they would have little girls doing it.
Now they have Ladies in combat, but we didn't have any of those. They are probably tougher than me but I don't want to find out.

Now I also think they have some sort of bed or air mattress to sleep on and a roof of some sort, maybe even air conditioning. We could have anything we wanted, as long as it was made out of mud or you could fill it with mud, like sand bags. I filled thousands of those. Heavy suckers. :)
This was a mans way to live. Nice clearing in the jungle. Mud under you and rain over you. Those aren't tents, tents are for sissies, those are poncho's. We also had electricity. During lightning storms.
Plenty of running water, it ran all over you.
I have no idea how I got on this from trigger finger. :p

I know that I've said it before, but I can't thank you enough for your service to our country, as well as for other veterans that may read posts on here. So bring it up as often as you like, and any other topic that you care to address. I believe at the very least, you've earned that.

That last picture cracked me up so much that I spit Diet Pepsi out of my nose!

Medical marijuana. Just saying. You can PM me and I'll tell you how it changed my life with pain management.

My wife already gets it. It was a procedure and that stuff is real expensive, it cost more than Selcon. She says it doesn't do anything for her Pain but if you take enough of it, it puts you to sleep. $400.00 for about an ounce of the oil. It also won't make you high so I am not sure why they make such a big deal out of it. First of all, there are much cheaper ways to get high than that. Not that I know anything about that or anything. Just saying.

She has MS which destroys your nerves and pain meds or other things don't work for that type of pain.

It is legal here in NY after you jump through a bunch of hoops.

Your welcome Star Reefer. :D

Thanks. My wife keeps telling me I will want to trade her in for a newer model. And I keep telling her that will never happen, because I couldn't get good trade in value with all of the previous damage. Of course, she does have a lot of custom work and aftermarket accessories. :)

Not legal here - yet. It is now before our state legislature. One pharmacy in town has supposedly just been granted a license to distribute it, so it will likely be here soon. I will pass it on. Thanks.

WE can't get it at a pharmacy here even though it is legal and you can't get a prescription for it. You need a letter from a pain management doctor and that doctor has to take a very expensive course to be able to subscribe it. Then you have to go to this little building that looks like a secret govt. agency and be buzzed in. You have to pay in cash, no checks or credit cards and they give it to you in a plain paper bag. You feel like a criminal when you walk out. For something thats legal, they really make you feel like you are some kind of dirtbag. But the people who need this stuff wouldn't use it if they didn't need it because of the cost and process they put you through to get it.

That picture above was taken here on top of this abandoned lighthouse in the Long Island Sound. Execution Lighthouse. I was asked there as a consultant because the new owner wanted to make it into a bed and breakfast.
My wife could not get up there now.

That place would make for a really interesting B&B.

It is easier to get medical pot here in Canada and you can order it online and have it delivered by mail. It is, however, much more expensive than buying it on a street corner. Suzie had a prescription to help with pain management and nausea when she was going through chemo. It helped, but she really didn't like taking it.

Pot will be legalized across the country at some point this year. Of course, you will only be able to buy it from licensed vendors and there will be a hefty tax on it, so buying it from Joe Blow on the corner will still be the cheapest option.

Here it is not Federally legal so you can't mail it or cross state lines. It has to be grown in the state, sold in the state and taken in the state.
