I was insulted by my Doctors receptionist for wanting to " clog up " eh atoll the health care system and given an appt in Aug. back in may . I did an end run on her the ( a word I cant say here ), and even then was encouraged to rely on the " smear test if you know what that is by the specialist
If you mean smear on a card from your 💩 then had that as well but its not as good as a colonoscopy. I am considered medium risk of bowel cancer having lost a younger brother and an uncle to it. You certainly don't push for a colonoscopy for fun thats for sure. Am 76 and won't be asking for another now.

Colonoscopy. Don't remind me I have had 4 last one 2024 and I had to push for one ( did I just say that 🙃) They seem to think once you reach 70 your done for and had your time. 😔 now pop off and stop bothering us 😒
Cologuard.

thats terrible! we need all ages! and cancer is a terrible way to go!
Unfortunately a very good friend of mine for over 50 years was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer last year. They removed a foot of his colon. Yesterday he called me to say it spread to his liver and next week they are cutting out half his liver.

I don't think he has long to go. We invited them here next week for dinner. I am not sure we will see him again which makes me very sad. I have lost 4 close friends in the last 4 years. But I guess, thats life as we are all getting to that point. 🙁

Such a shame Paul. I have lost 3 close friends and my mum.in the last 3 years. We are quickly loosing the closest people to us. I only have a few close friends left now 😔

Atoll. My Mother n Law used to say that all the time. All her family, 5 brothers and sisters died along with all her friends. Life gets very lonely when all the people you grew up with and met over the years are gone. 🥺

From what I am told it has improved greatly as a matter of fact it produces mor false negatives . Here you do it every 2 years . If you get that done then which is better than where your at now than a false negative prompts a colonoscopy . I would its a bad way to go brother

Here at the age of 70 they stop doing colonoscopies usually.

Don't you guys have Socialized Medicine there?.
We do but the NHS have "policies" that discriminate on age. You see at around 70 you are considered disposable. They will deny that if course but the evidence is there. I am waiting for an opperation and was told I had to wait 2 years and 2 months.
I went my doctors who wote on my behalf asking for an earlier date. I also wrote to PALS a patient's support liason. My waiting op is now gone to urgent which still means Waiting for around a year.
Nothing changed other than the 2 letters/emails sent. You have to fight your corner, many just accept what they are told.

In my touchy feely Country where anyone that wants attention because they are encouraged to ask for it get funded their own washroom. Identify as a cat and get a litter box .......... If your old you can be treated any way they want. Prejudice is not mentioned. I went back to work as a Steamfitter on what is called a turn around 6 days a week for 10 hours. The money is insane . The reaction from everyone around me was insulting. When your old no one wants to hear what you have to say. Say it anyway 😆

Tough one makes you wish you cant count

Most people would be dead by then. I can go into a hospital now and get an MRI, Colonoscopy, CAT scan, appendectomy, Tonsillectomy, Lipo suction or have the wax cleaned out of my ears in a day or two. And if my doctor is on vacation in Great Britain or doesn't want to sign for it, I can go to the Veterans Administration and get two of all those procedures just for the heck of it.

I also got two new shoulders and a knee without too much waiting. 😎

Many people here want socialized medicine and I hope it never happens as long as I am alive. I like getting surgeries especially when I'm bored.

I bet if the King needed an MRI he wouldn't have to wait a year. 😬

Happy 4th of July. 🇺🇸

I'm not sure about everyone else but I truly love this country and am so happy I live here.

I have been to many other countries, and I know it's not perfect, but it is much better than any other place to live.

So many people live in places where they are not free. Places where you can't say what you want, do what you want, wear what you want and leave when you want.

We have all of this because of our military, past and present and I thank them all.

When it was our By-centennial in 1976, I was out in my boat with friends celebrating in New York Harbor while watching the tall ships and the fireworks.

I am in the second boat from the left. 😆

It was a fantastic time. Today will be even better. 😎

I was also out in my boat for the 100th anniversary of the Brooklyn Bridge.

Have a great day today whatever you do.
