I have an 8gal bio cube and just a few days ago my tank was perfect. All the coral were fully extended brilliant and all. Then over night my ph/alk dropped and all my corals were closed up real tight. Then some of them started to turn and melt causing this jelly like substance like my candy cane and hammer coral. So after work I rushed to the my lfs and they told me that my ph/alk had dropped quiet low and for me to dose aqua vitro 8.3 everyday till it comes up along with argon milk.

Now what I'm trying to figure out is a proper dosing schedule. So this doesn't happen again. I do a water change about 2 gal every two weeks if that plays a factor in any of this.

Are you using ro/di water? What salt mix are you using? How old is the tank? What are the rest of your parameters?

I used ro/di from the lfs along with their saltwater and they use reef crystals. My tank is 7 years old right now my parameters are salinity 1.024 alk 14 ph8.2 cal 300. Nitrates and nitrites are zero. Three days ago every tested the same except the alk which was a 4 and that's where the problem started
