My mom will be sad she loves this show!! Yes it’s misleading but it is a 30min show on animal planet where they also play dog whisperer! Come On! You know dang well this show ain’t about reefs it’s reality tv people don’t care about the process they wanna see the end results the reason I seen a few episodes and these tanks are insane!! In regards to fish staying alive they are huge water volume tanks with huge skimmers and trickle filters way more than enough to keep any fish alive

Oh btw my friend years ago working in Columbus circle here in NYC saw an actual build but the owner was a reefer and they were building a reef tank not one of the cheesy builds on TV

I always like the show too but it was kind of annoying and their timelines were ridiculous. Who sets up a new tank and throws the fish in just a few hours later? I feel for Wade, he seems like such a nice honest hard working guy....at least on the show.

I personally liked the show. Gave me and my daughter something to bond over. She is 1 year 8 months old now but one of her first few words was fish! I assume all TV is fake and scripted. I watch a lot of car shows but I understand if they showed someone working on a car in real time it would be boring. Same thing with tanked.

Exactly people nowadays watch tv for drama not education if they did their audience would be the only people writing on this thread lol

Yeah, I'm sure I'm going to get some heat for this but I don't care lol. I honestly have watched more than a few episodes of the Kardashians. I found it entertaining. Can't watch too many in a row but the way I figure it is I have literally no drama in my life, so watching the Kardashians is my fix of drama.

Oh I also forgot to mention it is what made me want to start a saltwater tank. My daughter would light up everyone she saw a fish. Figured why wouldn't I want that it my house everyday. Now I knew better than to just base my info based on what I saw in the show. Just like I wouldn't rebuild a car based on what I've seen on Fast 'N Loud or overhauling or whatever other car shows that I can't get enough of. I just threw 2 car shows out there but there are a lot in between those 2 and those are not necessarily my favorite ones.

Very few shows are educational these days, from home remodeling to sister wives to Island Hunters, 300 channels of nothing. I liked watching the first couple seasons of building giant tanks from the cutting to forming, and gluing. This show should of stopped years ago, the only problem was what was going to replace it another honey boo boo show?

I’d say tanked falls into the same category as Pimp My Ride lol. Both give you a big, unreliable, impractical, gaudy, show piece that you would only really like for a short amount of time. But entertaining to watch. If tanked would of hired xzibit, I bet they would of gotten a few more seasons of watching out of me. Lol

So I’ll just admit it — I’ve seen every episode of every season. The actors mostly drove me nuts but they were car guys, and fish tank guys/gals — lots for me to enjoy.

I don’t much care for the drama, and the “extras”. I don’t care much about celebrities. I don’t like that the show was a bit misleading with regards to how the hobby works.

I always enjoyed watching the fish and some of the end products were stunning. So I’ll admit that I will miss them. Heather always stuck me as a lunatic.
You and @HotRocks could start a new one.

I admit I enjoyed watching the show. I didn't care for all the made up drama or the ridiculous theming. I watched mostly for the fish. I particularly liked the visits to the fish wholesalers. This show was meant for the masses, not for the small number of hard core reefers represented on R2R. As long as you viewed it as entertainment and not an educational BRS-type of video, it was fine. They did a lot of stuff behind the scenes that were not shown on tv b/c it would be boring, such as seeding bioballs, etc.
