Good evening all. I have been working on building a pond at my new house. I decided to bring my three bluegill and two comet goldfish with me that I raised since fry as I'm pretty attached and wasn't sure the new home owners would take care of them. I guess saying that anywhere but this forum would mean I'm crazy right? I got them when I first started learning about fish and although it's a weird combo, they were all raised together and so they stay together.

I say all of that to say that I was in search of a wave maker to help give their current tank a bit of Flow to help mimic their environment a bit more until their new pond is cycled and I know it's not going to have any issues. I built the pond with a .45mm firestone liner and it's between 500-1000 gallons according to my redneck math and chat GPT.

The wave maker I chose is a Hygger Flow One 18w. My goldfish tend to stir up quite a bit of dirt and this one has a good heavy filter on the outside.

The magnet on the wave maker is extremely strong and you certainly do not want to let your fingers slip in between it. I decided to throw it in my reef tank initially and then into a test 10 gallon tank I keep a few ramshorn snails in just to see what would happen... (tropical storm lol).

I like that it has a nighttime sensor and several different wave modes and a feeding mode that can go up to an hour.

Surprisingly my goldfish who usually graze the bottom like cattle like to play in the flow of it and I'm really happy with it. It's too powerful for my Nano reef tank so once these guys go in the pond it will have to come out until I figure out what I want to replace in their tank. I was actually really surprised at how heavy it feels. It's pretty chunky and has a nice weight to it. The impeller is red which I really like... I've been running it a week or two now and the goldfish have stirred up substrate several times that's nearly occluded the flow of the entire filter around it and it still keeps going... What a tank!! Anyway, this is my first wave maker and I'm pretty happy with it. I plan on picking up the hygger mini wave maker for my reef tank next. Just wanted to share my experience! If you would like 10% off on this you can use the code “Alsfishtails” https://www.hygger-online.com/product/hygger-flow-one-aquarium-wave-maker/?ref=alsfishtails

78x78 inches and it’s about 3 feet deep! I have a bigger waterfall coming in that will span about half the width of the pond and I will build a deck around it. Here’s current photos
