Thats a cool idea! I will try that thanks!Freeze some into a clam shell.
I've wanted to add a butterfly to my tank for a while but not sure of which species. I'm thinking about C.adiergastos, C.mertensii, or C.kleinii.
I've never had much luck with SPS but do have quite a few LPS including Duncan and euphylia. System is about 240 gallons with tank 6ft long by 30 wide. Pretty active fish population including a blue hippo tang, pair of blue chin triggers, foxface, kole tang, coral beauty, lyretail anthias (5) melanarus wrasse and then quite a few rose anemones.
Any specific suggestion or recommendation?
Use to have one these for several years ago but lost it in a tank crash. Was one of the meanest fish I’ve ever had![]()
Chaetodon fremblii, Bluestripe butterfly fish. Another beauty!
Tried a true bonded pair of these but they never thrived and ended up losing both after about a year.![]()
Any love for C. semilarvatus?

Honestly all 3 of those are likely to nip most LPS. Stick with the Roaps subgenus, Chelmon, Forcipiger, or Hemitaurichthys speciesI've wanted to add a butterfly to my tank for a while but not sure of which species. I'm thinking about C.adiergastos, C.mertensii, or C.kleinii.

Thank you so much. I'll research those. Would any of these be okay in a small group?Honestly all 3 of those are likely to nip most LPS. Stick with the Roaps subgenus, Chelmon, Forcipiger, or Hemitaurichthys species
Hemitaurichthys do well in groups if added at the same timeThank you so much. I'll research those. Would any of these be okay in a small group?
ThanksIt seems some fish just age very well. Your Mitratus doesn’t look to be slowing down much if at all. Good job giving it such a long life. @MrsBugmaster
They will probably need a short time to fully adapt; they look quite healthy, as does the very fat joculator angel seen to the sideOnly Day 2 in my tank, but i inherited these yellow long nose butterflies from a fellow reefer who had to decommission his tank. They've been with him for 3 years as a pair and are taking pellets. That being said, haven't seen them eat pellets in my tank, just mysis and other frozen foods.
.Bob and Bobbette are both real fatties. Feeding is my greatest joy in this hobby :DThey will probably need a short time to fully adapt; they look quite healthy, as does the very fat joculator angel seen to the side.
