The Future QT started July 2018. Currently my family is living in a small rental house way up in the Rocky Mountains. Soon as we buy a place of our own a new and much larger build will happen. Thus the name of this build! Here's a pic I snapped tonight.
Recently beat back a mostly minor bloom of ostreopsis dinos. Raised the NO3 and PO4 and added the UV. The dinos subsided completely, as far as I can tell, within a week. Unfortunately they did cause some destruction, as I ignored them for too long. They just loved gathering their hateful gooey strings together all over some of my favorite corals with unfavorable results of varying degree. Also, please ignore the dead anacropora frag in the sand; the same coral is glued to the zoa rock.
Other than that battle the tank has been thriving. Pleased with the Future QT and how it's turning out. I will be posting random updates in this thread every month. Big plans are to work on photography and keep everything healthy and growing. I'd like to try to choose a topic for each update post, as this intro seems to be snowballing...
