I think so. his was more encrusting. not sure how spongodes grows. there were some small spikes though.

Yeah it's a Spongodes. It grows the plates like you'd expect, it just grew out of control in my tank, so there were giant flat sections. This was one of them. I have a picture of it before I broke it up in my build thread. I think it was over 14" x 10" (L x W).

Mine refuses to plate. It goes fantastic branches though!

Weird! It looks almost like a Cap rather than a Spongodes.

I've found that lower light brings the polyps out more and makes them stay dark, higher flow gives it a more random growth pattern, and higher light makes the green brighter.

The offspring purchased some encrusting Monti (not sure what the name is, but it's green haha) at a frag show down in VA this past weekend and he's _obsessed_ with coral now. The downside is that he also has expensive taste. :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Coral aside, if either of you @Mschmidt, or anyone else, wants to meet up, I'll keep you posted on what day(s) I'm client free. (:grinning-face-with-sweat: )

I'm betting I'll have some left! They're not super-exotic, but they're certainly not bad looking. The Sunset, spongodes and green digitata pop pretty nicely under blue light. They'll fill out space quickly too, which if you're going for a full-looking tank is a good thing.
