There are lots of people that keep mantis shrimp in a fuge. Just make sure the mantis has enough space for a good home. You don't want to put an O. Scyllarus in a 10 gallon fuge but an N. wennerae would do great in that size.

Did it come from Florida live rock?

Will most likely turn green under reef tank lighting and conditions.

Cool, well im gonna pick it up Wednesday. Wish I could keep it in my main display but I dont wanna loose any of my fish. I have quite a few scorps that like to hang on the sand bed

Can you guys post some pics of the setups? I have a mantis that a buddy was going to flush so I set it up in a 14g biocube. The lighting is low, has that black beauty sand (after reading I should probably change that out) and a few large rocks. I don't ever see him out and about. Just sits curled in a ball in a cave. Had him for 3 months now. Multed twice.

How deep is the sand? Usually if they cant dig down they'll curl up into a ball beside liverock. Mine has about 4inch of tomini that he burrow through

He probably has 3in of the black beauty. Should I change to some live sand or crush coral?
