I set up my Fluval light to ur settings and noticed the light was on all night. Before I was using the Auto mode and had it going off at 11 p.m. Is that how it's supposed to work? I thought it was supposed to go off at midnight?

My settings ramp down and completely off at 2 am on the 3.0, all my other lights are off by midnight

Ok. Then the 3.0 comes on again at 6, correct?
Isn't that too much light? I thought they were only supposed to get between 8 to 10 hours of light. Anything more than that causes algae.

Yes it starts ramping up at 6am. Adjust as you see fit, it works for me but not necessarily someone else, you may need to play with it to get what you like. I stay up late and like to look at my tank in the moon lighting.

Not sure, but those are supposed to be good lights. I'm sure there's someone on R2R that could help, maybe try searching the light in the search menu

Today is another go at trying to get rid of the last little bits of cyanobacteria with blue life red cyano rx.

It's been working good for me so far, obviously I don't expect it to be done in one dose. This is, I think my 4th in the year, so every 3 months or so and everytime it gets less and less coming back. I just hope I don't bottom out something else, fingers crossed.

2-3 days I'll do a water change, add carbon and turn on my skimmer with a bucket and airline tubing to take away the extra foaming that comes after the cyano treatment. Works perfect every time.

Updated pictures after treatment, worked pretty good. Still a bit residual, but nothing to stress over. Got 4 new snails today, big ol' zebra snails
All untouched pictures, pretty close to the colours I see.

Tank is looking great! Also nice photos, I’m impressed you were able to get all those on a phone.

For your skimmer, are you just attaching a hose on that side outlet to drain it?
I have the same one and have issues with the bubble popping the lid off and overflowing everywhere.

I tape the lid down, I did that on the sea clone before that. I don't like worrying about it over flowing. If it's been treated with cyano rx, then when I put the skimmer back on I run airline into the hole in the side and to the base of the cup and drain it externally. But I have also taken the air restrictor (ventri) from my sea clone and mounted it on my air intake tube, so I can adjust the intake airflow while its settling down, usually takes overnight. Then I remove the airline from the hole on the side of the cup and open the ventri wide open.

I can take a picture later if you would like to see.

Thanks and I will let you know if I need pictures. Pretty sure I got it though.

I will have to give this a try next time I take apart my current “fix” for cleaning.
Fitted a bunch of pvc pipes between the skimmer and a bucket. It’s hard to get off, but I was desperate after it skimmed out a quarter of my tank one night. Had a container with a bit of water holding the lid down and the cup slipped to its lowest setting.
Guess I had a little too much water that day.
