I previously used an AZOO Mignon 150 on a 2.5 gallon Aqueon tank, and did not find the flow adequate for my purposes- especially with the narrow spillway. I ended up adding a Hydor Koralia (which was honestly a bit too much) to run a mixed LPS/SPS reef. If using this as a frag tank I would want at least an Aquaclear 50 or so.

The Mignon 150 is a lovely filter though- I was able to fit a small heater inside along with the filter media. Made for a lovely setup and less visible stuffin the tank. Here's a pic from when I ran it alongside my shrimp tank with a DIY dual spectrum LED fixture- the koralia is hidden behind the rock on the right.

Took a stab at the Drop Off layout from feedback.
Agree it needs to be wider like the DIY AIO. At 9" the center chamber would only be 2.5-3"
Longer does help the aesthetic ratio of the two level widths. 5" top, 6" lower at 15"

Agree it
So is it going to have a "bottom" under the entire tank? I've seen some drop offs the dont and you need to put something for the tank to sit on. Never mind looked at another drop off tank and that answered my question.

I am still not completely on board with the .510 thru hole. As a company, we never go through walls without using bulkheads. And we really, really like Sicce pumps. With those thoughts, I asked the guys to dry kit one of the Picos with a Sicce Nano and a 1/2 inch bulkhead. Below is the result. Comments please as we are running out of runway before I need to release to production. Last count, 80 kits are going out.

This looks perfect. Sicce would be my go to as well.

I'm down with 1/2" bulkhead. Will be using the SICCE MICRA-158GPH
Can you move it up to just below the etching for a little more hose flex?

How about a diy slim half or one gallon ato to discreetly slide behind this pico as an optional order add-on - will give more practice as well lol

Anyone have suggestions for an ATO for a tank this size? Reliability is important with such small water volume

I definitely want one of these. I'm sorry if I missed it in the thread, but how do I order one?

I use the Coralvue Hydros x2 controller with their ATO. Super reliable. Spendy, but great. Very precise. Upside, you can also then use it for a temp monitor as well rather than buying a Ranco.
