Exsquiste wrasse 6 line pin tail tang gang. Flame hawk. Blue velvet devil damsel, jester goby diamond goby. I don’t really see any aggression from anyone. He usually shows mid afternoon.
6 line wrasse? Also a pintail wrasse? Sometimes it’s not about chasing or biting. It’s mental.

How long have you had her? I've had mine for a while now, and she's still a bit skittish. Nothing to bother her in the tank, just me. Took her a long time to come to the front of the tank and hang around while I was there. I have my tank set up so there's plenty of space behind the rocks for the fish to hang out if they don't want to be seen.
@BasementBox I Agree people are what some wrasse fear most. I gently and quick add food and back off. Short positive visit will allow her to see you as good with the food.
She will eat pods and get food scraps as she hides. Many will eat only at night. I have used clams on half shell, gell or added baby brine, nori for new wrasse in qt that only ate at night.

Approximately a month. Usually shows mid afternoon then disappears for the day.

Mine came out for only a few hr in the AM then sand for the rest of the day/night, probably for 2-3 months. I saw her, but she just bailed early. I would feed extra when she was awake, and she got used to seeing me sitting at my desk in front of the tank.

I still don't make sudden movements like swinging my chair around, because that will send both my yellow and my pencil wrasse right into the sand. Leopard just stays right by the glass blowing me kisses.

Some individual fish you just have to be extra patient and "let them come to you".

Likely the 6 line and/or the damsel. 6 line can patrol the entire rockwork no problem. Pintail and chrysus are on the whimpy side IME.
Leucoxanthus also... Mine hides frequently.

Pintail and 6 line are by far my favorites. The pintail is like a puppy when I’m in the tank he is always around my hand. I probably could pick him up.

6 line will be a problem down the road for other wrasses if he isn’t already. They are the perfect solitary fish for frag tanks.

Shy or hiding wrasse are because they are not comfortable with tank mates or just cramped in a tank. Overtime some learn to settle in and some will just slowly deteriorate from stress and anxiety. Also hiding and not eating is the sign of a parasite or some other disease. Yeah, it can take some longer to settle in a new tank and stay out longer, but that time is also dictated on tank conditions and other tank mates.
One of the biggest reason wrasse just die is stress. Aggression isn’t biting or chasing but an established wrasse hang close to a new wrasse. He stays close to keep new wrasse stressed and they will slowly deteriorate or man up and stand their ground. Sand sleepers deal better with it then fairy’s. Some fairy’s can die in 3 days if they are pushed to be highly stressed. Because of this it’s why mixing wrasse can be difficult and how you add them changes outcomes.

Edit. This is not directed to anyone just advice learned. If you find it useful okay if not that’s okay to.

Other tank mates? Long time to be shy but possible. I’m think someone or something is keeping him shy
This is currently my planned list

pair clownfish
Baggai Cardinal
Royal Gramma
Firefish
Bristletooth Tang
Yellow Coris Wrasse
Mandarin Goby (once tank more mature and has pods)

Thinking about adding to this list (1 from below):
Chalk basslet

The only current ones I obtained are royal gramma, yellow chrysus, and cardinal.

Radiant and adorned are good options. Also a leopard can work. If you choose fairy I recommend stay on the more docile side.

One thing I’ll add about fish that are not out as much. Where did you buy them and how long they had them. Takes sand sleepers time to get use to our lighting times. If lfs had them then they started to adjust. If imported and direct some take time. More time

Sadly, yesterday my favorite fish, the Yellow "coris" wrasse, jumped out of the tank and fell on the floor when I removed the lid to cut a coral branch, I believe that was the coral cutter that I was using for the first time scared it out.

In a matter of seconds I grabbed it and put back in the water and it immediately sank to the sand breathing heavily. Less than one minute later it started to swin, eventhough with some difficulty. Maybe more one minute or two it was swimming normal again, and just buried itself (in the same spot it always do).

Later that day he came out, and was swimming perfectly in the middle of the water column, no apparent physical damage. But oddly, his behaviour changed completely (well, was a big fall tho).

- He used to patrol the whole tank picking on the rockwork and the sand, now hes swimming in the middle of the water column and dont go anywhere else.
- He was a voracious eater, now completely ignore when I feed, the food pass in front of his eyes and he just ignore it.
- He used to no be shy at all, very active and curious, every time I had my hand in the tank to fix something, he was close checking it and trying to eat things around it. Now if I approach the tank he goes hide in the sand :S.

What gave me hope today is that I saw it picking two pellets on the sand, so he will not starve to death I guess, but apart from that,he keeps swimming on the same area, the body looks fine but his mind is gone, completely soulles, looks like the little guy got a factory reset.

Someone had a similar experience ? Will he ever heal ? I guess the time will tell :(
