The male black leopard went into the sand immediately and about 15 min later he came out and is exploring and probably eating the millions of pods crawling all over my conditioning tank that has been empty of fish for a long while.

I think that is a good sign! I had the LFS hold him for 4 days.

Just got this girl in today from TSM along with a pink streak. Will spend 4 weeks here before going to the DT. Ate mysis like a pig within 5 minutes.

How’s your vivienae doing now? Any improvement?
Added some sand to the bottom of the acclimation box and she dove into it. Hope to see her come out tomorrow and will try to feed. I opted for no sand initially with just a piece of PVC in the box.

Glad she buried, that’s a good sign. Keep us posted!

My two baby Meleagris Leopards. Both are doing well eating pellets very well and get feed 5 times a day. 4 by my automated feeder and once in the morning by myself. These guys are tiny, smallest Leopards I have ever seen. When I got them before Christmas, the small one was about 1.25 inch and the larger one was about 1.5 inch. They grew about .5 inch over the last 4 weeks (since 12/212020)

So my blue throat is acting normal swimming around but when I feed he darts around like he’s going to eat...but doesn’t. I feed mysis and garlic flavored pellets. Haven’t seen him eat in a week...wouldn’t he be dead by now?

Is he a new addition or have you had him for awhile?

Update on the Vivienae - she's doing great now, actively grazing and out and about.

Disappointed a bit by the coloration though. Picked her up from TSM and they said she's been out of QT for a couple months. Color loss from captivity/stress or just natural geographic variation? She's much paler and without the bright yellow dots/highlights in Lemon's pictures. Anyone with experience with this fish and coloration?

Had for a bit. When added he hid for a day or so but then started eating
So he was eating what you’ve been offering but then stopped eating a week ago? The darting and lack of appetite could means flukes which are common in wrasse. You could try a diagnostic FW dip and post a new thread in the fish disease forum for more opinions.

The fish is Lemon’s picture is a juvenile that’s why it’s coloration is different from yours. You have a nice vivienae, I’m glad she recovered from her stress.

Mine is the same. We have had them for one day. Maybe need to settle in. Could they be transitioning? Watch the humeral spot to see if it develops more blue color.

Thanks. I'll give it a few weeks to settle in. Transitioning could be it, though the head still looks like pure female coloration just more muted.

Wouldn’t I see flukes?

Not usually. If you do decide to dip your wrasse use a container with a dark bottom it’s easier to see flukes against a dark background.

If this has been over a week...wouldn’t he be dead by now or I’d be able to see other signs?

if he truly wasn’t eating how long will he last?
