The Wrasse Lover's Thread!

Was this in flemington?
No, down in Blackwood.
I have yet to visit the one in Flemington.
Anyone have any input on the price? It's a stunning fish. I may be fully stocked tho. My tank may not be large enough to add a third wrasse..

That is a relatively high price for Naokoae IMO. Usually they’re closer to 75-80 from what I’ve seen online.

How big is your tank and what are the other wrasses?

110g currently housing a yellow coris wrasse, added a melanurus yesterday only bc my ruby-headed fairy wrasse disappeared about a month or 2 ago.
Also have a pair of clowns, female blue throated trigger, starry blenny, and desjardini sailing tang.

I have a similar tank dimension (4’x2’x2’) with 12-13 fish in. 6 (5?) of them are my wrasses

I don’t think you are fully stocked, but I am a nut job. My fish list is in my build thread. Tons of wrasse. I just hit @Crabby48, @SaltyT and @i cant think up to check compatibility.

I am actually about to add some more fish, but more Anthias. The Achilles is finally big enough and moved out of this tank, so can add a ton of those guys and equal the bioload.

I did have 4 anthias at one point, I LOVE THEM. Went down to being able to keep 1 purple queen and 1 lyretail for several months before they all ended up dying from uronema marinum. I unfortunately didn't make the short trip down to TSM for them and paid for it.

I totally agree. I stock my tanks much denser than a lot of people though. My 75 gallon has the following fish:

2 Brown Saddleback Clownfish
2 Orange Skunk Clownfish
3 Orange Line Chromis
4 Green Chromis
1 Sapphire Damsel
2 Blue Devil Damsel
2 Smithi Damsel
2 Green Spot Lyretail Damselfish
3 Tiger Lori Anthias (in quarantine)
2 Banggai Cardinalfish
3 Red Stoplight Cardinalfish
2 Threadfin Cardinalfish
1 Timor Wrasse
1 Radiant Wrasse
1 Ruby Longfin Fairy Wrasse
1 Brunneus Fairy Wrasse (in quarantine)
1 Labouts Fairy Wrasse (in quarantine)
1 Pintail Fairy Wrasse (in quarantine)
1 Powder Brown Tang (in quarantine - will be moved to bigger system as it grows)
1 Hi-Hat Drum (in quarantine - will be moved to bigger system as it grows)
1 Aurora Goby
1 Yellow Brotulid
1 Mandarin Dragonet

And I still plan on grabbing a rhomboid fairy and a royal pencil wrasse, maybe a leopard wrasse as well. I feed 4-6x daily, and have an oversized skimmer and a large refugium plus regular water changes to keep up with waste.

For me,
I feed 6-8x a day, have macro growing behind the rocks, and have tons of caves and rocks in the tank. Plus loads of pods.

I also think it came to a point that there are so many fish, they don’t know who to be aggressive to lol.

I have all that except maybe the caves. My pink streak was even bullying a flasher wrasse .

Ah well things are pretty good at the moment and only two fish to be added. A C. exquisitus and a ribbon goby.

I know 6 of those fish, the rest I have no clue. Silly Englishman and his scientific names. :D

Suppose I'll have to google.

Oh hang on, I’m not missing one, I had 13 but 2 died and got replaced by the Diacanthus flavescens right?
@Petcrazyson I bet you know my own fish stocking better than me haha

Black leopard has been out the last couple days, with a noticeable difference in her/his appearance.

Not the best pictures, but the best I can get. Whenever I get near the tank, she hides in the corner. So I have take pictures from a distance, zoomed in.
