One of the things that have attracted us to this hobby has been COLOR. Color of fish and coral alike but as kids, we saw fish whether weird shape or color that grabbed our attention. After a recent vacation, I saw the most fish ever and some I had to look up after a dive as I thought I saw beautiful fish before. One was the Ornate Butterfly. For me has always been the Harlequin Tusk, leopard wrasse and Mandarin Goby. There are many that fit the term : "Most beautiful"

What is the most beautiful fish you've ever seen?

Most beautiful is tough but I would say a juvenile emperor angel has to be up there

Most beautiful is difficult as all fish are stunning in their own way (aside from a black tang… they’re just not my cup of tea with fish and are very boring). In no particular order, here’s some of the fish I like the most.

The blueface angel. Has been my favorite since I first saw one in a book when I was a kid. Was a MUST HAVE for my reef and the one I have is definitely a stunner. Got it as a tiny juvenile and it's a full adult now.

A little bit off-topic, but just want to stress that for me a picture never does a fish justice. As beautiful as all of these photos are, there's no substitute for being able to see an unusually beautiful fish in person.

Back on topic, I'm not sure . . . too many beautiful fish (in many different ways and for different reasons) for me to choose!

Emperor angelfish are always high on the list, but there are lots of other stunning large angels which don't get enough credit. More large angel love!

Large angels really take the cake when it comes to beauty among fish. If only they got about 4" long and were reef safe, I'd keep nothing else. Someday I'll set up a 600g FOWLR so I can keep these.

I love Chrysurus ! Very underrated fish! Tho which angelfish is the most beautiful could be a debate of its own… such a stunning variety and “personality” (fishonality?) to boot!!!
