So I got this torch about 2 weeks ago and it hasnt been doing great. I was getting a little extension here and there. Ive tried a few different places.

Now it looks like part has died. I just moved to a new area and the rest of it looks the best it has.

Just dont know if I should do anything to salvage the rest. Will the dead head affect the rest of it?

Most recent info:
nitrates ~4 red sea
Phos .04 hanna
Alk 7.9 hanna
Temp 77
Cal 470
Mg 1300
Ph 8.0

Reefbreeders led.

My alk was very low just about when I added the torch about 5.1- 5.4. Im just recently getting my tank back in shape and have increased alk from 5 to almost 8 over the past 2 weeks.

Any suggestions?

I just added a hammer last week that has been doing great btw

Similar thing happened to me. I cut off the dead/dying piece with a rotary tool and dipped the piece I was trying to save in coral rx. I did this about 4 months ago and it is still alive today.
