Torch coral

Why would my torch coral have some of its tentacles extended out so long over twice the length of the rest of the tentacles

I actually agree with gator1970. Never seen one reach out tentacles like that. Gotta be careful.

It could also be trying to sting another coral with a sweeper - usually this takes place at night, though. Have you added any new corals nearby recently?

I thought hungry also so I tried giving it some krill yesterday to no avail and no there are no new Coral

Your torch might be reaching for light or its hungry. This is quite normal in my opinion. Inject it directly with a thawed out mysis cube. Mine devours mysis like it is its job. Also how's the flow where it's at. Strong? Mild? Moderate?

How's the flow in that area though?

Current can also cause corals to stretch. Zoas will stretch two inches or so for more like or even to reach stronger currents. Had an entire colony of punk rocker zoas do this in order to receive more flow. Torch coral generally like a mild to moderate flow just enough to get the tentacles moving. But if all else's fails with feeding than I would suggest changing flow or adjusting lighting. Although I do not know your current setup for lighting so I can't help you there

The floats not too bad it's a hundred gallon tank and I have two 750 gallon per hour powerheads along with the 750 return pump

Oh I forgot to mention that he is in the very middle in the front of the class and both powerheads are in the front of the tank pointing to the back glass so he's not getting direct flow but there's quite a bit of flow in the tank
