Hi reefers ,

My system is fairly new (3 months) but since a few weeks i have some euphylia in my tank . Al doing great except for 1 piece . It looks healthy and polyps are fully opened but it does not have a healthy fleshband , its just skeleton and polyps . Which it had when i bought it so something would be of ?
My parameters are the following .
Salinity: 34.5–35.0 PSU
Temperature: 25.6 °C
pH: 8.0–8.2
KH: 8.5 dKH
Calcium: ~415 ppm
Magnesium: ~1350 ppm
NO₃: 5–10 ppm
PO₄: 0.10–0.20 ppm

Out of the 3 torches i keep this particular one does seem to be in the highest flow region compared to the others . Thats the only thing i could think of ? But wont the polyps be retracted too then ?

Thanks in advance

They can take quite a bit of flow but if it's really hard from the same direction constantly it would be bad. I don't see that as the issue in your tank. Looking at your video it looks like the other two are showing quite a bit of white skeleton below the heads also which to me would indicate recent loss of flesh bands on them also.
Parameters seem fine. Are they stable?
Par level?
Nitrates a little on the low side maybe for LPS if they are not catching food too. Mine always did best when I target fed them a couple times a week with frozen mysis or LPS pellets. My tanks are very low fish bioload so feeding my corals helped a ton. Torches eat pretty well during the mid day. Turn flow down and try target feeding a little 2 or 3 times week.

They do get regulary a blast tonthe other direction but i would say my flow is coming from 1 side for a total of like 65 prcnt compared to all the directions they can get flow from .
Also after posting i did take a closer look and notice the receding flesh on the other torches too .
I do feed frozen but not targeted .
As for par i could say but i have a high light setup wihch i will show as screenshot .
Reefled 60 on a max nano xl
Parameters are stable .

If you are worried about flow for torches.. check out this video from torches on a farm in the ocean LOL it is pretty crazy. Yes you can tear the heads and rip off tentacles but that doesn't explain the loss if tissue band around the outside.

I do think there is good advice in this case to lower it as the torches are struggling and without much tissue around the skeleton they are at risk from being damaged with the water tugging on the heads. The other idea would be to shelter the sides so the water doesn't hit it from sideways or from below so much and more downward directions instead.

Here is a short video of my random flow. Changing direction back and forth fairly often and also crashing flow.

I think your max power schedule is a little short. I would reduce the sunrise to 30min and increase the length of time for max power by that 90min. Not familiar with the numbers in the first photo. What's the % in the right column in the blueish box? Looks to me your using mostly the blue channel? I think you need to bump white up on this light and maybe increase power. Redsea says about 100par at the bottom of the tank. That is I would guess at full power on all channels? Which I don't think you are doing?

Personally I think a 60w fixture is underpowered for a tank this size and depth.

SO if I had to guess.. the par is lacking.

That is insane. As others have said, I'd love to be able to check that out.
