Ok Thanks for clearing this up . So this is Fact based then and not hearsay assuming. I skimmed through the video and really only been watching this thread so I haven’t seen it .there’s been a couple different conflicting Dates I’ve seen posted on here ,which is why I brought it up . A week ,a month is fine . I just don’t wanna be watching my emails like a hawk . Might be better to have a official answer from Terrence for the ones who didn’t see or watch the video : )

Agreed, not everyone is scouring every bit of info they can find like some of us. I' m such a gadget junkie and love researching things so this is right up my alley.

Exactly. And here’s to hoping you get the email on time. Got mine from BRS at 2:04 am CDT.....they’d already been gone for 2 plus hours at that point.

I spoke to a LFS they said they expect more either this or next week. So i would think big distributer like brs and marine depot will have them in the next week or two if not sooner.

Got mine today! Believe in unicorns!!! I have a genuine question for @Terence. The tops of the reagents, should they be put on tight (in the unit) or loosely as to not cause a vacuum? Better said, do the lines going into the reagent “down spouts” allow for air to pass into bottles? Thanks

Just screw the cap/needle assemblies onto the bottles fully. Neither loose nor really tight. The hole where the 90 degree elbow goes through provides a tiny vent, sufficient to prevent a vacuum from forming as reagent gets consumed.

Trident was delivered Friday night. I installed it that night. Setup was very easy. There are great step my step instructions with a video. Here are some photos of the box and everything in it.

I'm using a 40g breeder as my sump. The orange clip is not large enough to fit over the side of that tank - the plastic rim is too big. I just realized, sitting here at work, that I should have clipped it over a glass baffle. I'll do that when I get home.

I put the Trident on a small, two drawer nightstand sort of thing which is right next to the tank. You can see part of it in the photos at the top. I could build a shelf for it under the tank, but I'm not sure that I want to. For now, I'm going to leave it outside the tank. As I said, it was very easy to setup. After doing the initial steps, I went to my son's game and proceeded check for the first test results on my phone. Apparently too much, as my wife noticed and said something. :)

I intend to run the calibration on it tonight, since it will have been running for 3 days.

We issued a firmware update today: 5.05_5B19. Make sure to update to that and the Trident before completing the calibration. If it shows no update is available, then reboot your Apex and wait a couple minutes. Full information regarding the firmware update can be found here

All updated thanks for the heads up. Does it automatically run a test after updated? Are you trying to make me use up my reagents lol?

The Trident only does a self-check and test for sample water after a firmware update; it does not run an Alk or Combined test at that time; it will run the next scheduled Alk or Combined test per the schedule you have configured.

Ran the software update remotely yesterday afternoon. Then I updated the Trident firmware (again, remotely). Last night, I ran the calibration. Simple and painless.

After running the calibration, I did notice that the Apex Fusion logged a pretty high Ca - it was 468 on the graph. I think that coincided with the calibration test. At that point, the tile read 425, which was the calibration solution. As of this morning, my Ca was reading 418. This is about what I would expect.

I should have taken some screen shots of Trident tile before and after the calibration. However, from memory, the only reading that changed much was Ca. It was reading closer to 385-390 before the calibration and is 418 after. That's a long way of saying that the calibration from Neptune was very accurate for Alk and Mg from the factory.

I continue to be very happy with the Trident.
