Trident sold out everywhere

I was lucky and logged into BRS at 250am

I was able to snag my Trident and opted for next day shipping.

As luck would have it there was a delay in Texas but luckily it got to me today just about 1pm.

The outer box had some dents but the inner box wasn’t damaged.

Packing was good but I did have an issue with a leaking reagent.

I notified Neptune systems and they called me within 30 min and arranged for 50% off which I was actually proud of.

The setup was a total breeze and I had it up and running in less than 15 min.

The first test took a bit of time but the results were dead on considering shipping and only factory calibration.

I’m honestly impressed and have had no issues whatsoever (save the leaky bottle.

For reference here is the first results from the trident and what I got using Hanna for Alk and Ca and Aquaforest for Mg

I would say that’s pretty dang good.

And I didn’t have to measure or cut anything.

I didn’t have to figure out what doser goes to what

Way more per test:( I was lucky got one of 6 in Canada! have 100% apex control equipment now and researched them all. I think the trition is the best..but soon will see?

I was one of the ones that was is the process of checking out and by the time I hit pay it was sold out. I thought for sure this one was going to work out for me as i work night shift and anything released in the morning I never get. So after they sold out I remembered in the live stream the local stores were supposed to have them as well. I started calling them as they opened up the next morning. None of them had gotten them yet. I was also told were shipped 1 each except one store about 3.5 hours away that I was told got 2. Didn't matter either way they were all sold!

The funniest part is I was never really interested in the Trident. I thought it was kind of expensive as I only test once a week right now. Now that it is released i have this over whelming need to have it!:D

Seems like a great tester so I’m glad it’s finally out! Maybe when I set my 90gl back up I’ll pick one up!

On my larger tank I’ve the alkatronic already and pretty happy with it. I also have the reefbot and am also happy with it. I’m actually on my second bot as there were some issues that couldn’t be fixed, so I got sent a new one for free. Talk about awesome customer service! Each of these testers serve different but similar purposes IMO. My reef bot Is awesome, and I use it to test nitrate, phosphate, spot check alk, and also test magnesium.
My alkatronic Keeps my kH stable as if needed can make small doses to correct. I think I finally got my calcium reactor setup right so it’s cool to see a solid line of the same test results every 3 hours and I haven’t even had to dose anything in some time. So with that said, maybe just spend the money on a calcium reactor setup, dial it in right and not worry about auto testing all the time? On the other hand , having the ability to test frequently can help spot issues earlier and get automatically notified.

It has been for two years i think they released a small amount to limit the returns etc it’s going to be tested on those people that did get it

Unfortunately many companies believe "giving the customer their money back" makes things OK, you still have an inferior product. If you have a product you have confidence in and are proud of you want to be sure you have a strong pipeline at start up so you don't lose sales and create customer dissatisfaction. Demand is typically at its peak at the beginning of a highly anticipated product. It seams to me the short time the product was in the hands of the "insiders" (as little as 3 months) gives virtually no time for issue identification, fixes implemented, and fixes validated. Hopefully, the insiders were the final validation, with no issues. I very much want this product, even though I am very happy with my Alkatronic. I hope this all works out.

Yes. Works for me well since I have a Calcium Reactor and frequent water changes. Alk tends to be the most critical.

If they release too many at once, just think of how difficult it would be to contact customer support if you have an issue. They would be overwhelmed and would receive a lot of complaints. I think they are releasing slowly based on being able to provide good support to those installing.

Seems like they have it calibrated to match the hanna checker. At least with alkalinity. Which is smart since most people that will buy it have been using a hanna checker!

I'm only 56, but in terms of tech that's old. I still have the old Iphone 4 and still have to have my daughter help me with it. Not that I'm stupid, but the benefit has to outweigh the PIA factor. I took that picture for my avatar Eight total hours of exposure with My CCD camera and 6 inch telescope. The only way I'd spring for a trident is if I had an SPS dominated tank with many high end acros.

It has been at least 10 weeks since the Trident has been released and it is still sold out everywhere. I wonder what it is about this product that is keeping them from being able to produce them at a faster rate. It is really disappointing they cant get these things in stores.
