Need some.help with this little guy. He's slowly growing and he's gotten much much fatter since I got him but what else could I do to speed the growth? I've had it for about a month and a half now. I think it's growing a 3rd mouth too..

It looks pretty solid where you mount it, just give it some more time you should see some new heads, or a split. Candy canes loves a little dirty water or fish poop to help growth in my experience.

This took 3 months for me

They don't like too high flow just like a breeze. When you spot feed is the powerhead off? My experience with high flow the head is not as fluffy..

What type of light and what is the par at? From the picture it looks like your canes are almost sandbed. They do like a good sun tan also...

I think your placement seems fine. I've had candy canes in high flow, low flow, low light, high light and they have always been thankful and kept on growing.. The last one I had sat just as yours in the bottom of the tank with medium flow.

Wow beautiful... How did you feed?

My big flow pump is on the opposite end of the tank hits the glass then bounces on the trumpet. Doesn't really move all that much.(you can see from the pixture)

Easy answer, I did'nt. It got some food from the water movement when I was feeding the fishes but no spot feeding at all. I've fed these in the past and yes they do grow a little bit faster but it's not necessary to feed them.

Pretty basic. Not recommended for a brand new tank but an established tank providing the following:

Moderate light and water flow
Feed 2-3X per week
temperature 77-79
salinity 1.024-1.025
PH 8.1-8.3
ammonia < .03
phos < .05
Nitrate < .03

They grow slow until they start splitting them they take off. Photo timeline of the evolution of my candy canes below. They went from two heads, to what I thought was dead (they had some kind of parasitic worm infection), to a FW dip to now almost 15 heads.
