Ok, D&D time is over. We're going to go ahead and start filling this tank with water. I'm not 100% happy with the rock. It seems like it needs more, but I want plenty of open sand also. I still have two large rocks left.

We'll get an adapter from Lowes tomorrow. I'm pretty sure one of these will work just fine.

Tank is full. Still haven't filled the overflow all the way up to the stand pipe. Time to head to Lowe's while I'm filling another 5g jug(takes roughly 70 minutes) and get that adapter. Anyone know how to straighten vinyl hose that's curved? I've had it stretched out all night and it's still got a good curve to it.

Oh yea, Hawaiian sand, it's magnetic... and a sand goby is out. Particles are bigger than I thought.

Try boiling water and soaking the tubing in it for a couple minutes. Use some gloves or tongs to remove it from the water and slide something rigid and strait into the tube while it cools off. That should straiten you right out :)

I so want to use black sand but keep hearing hows it magnetic and sticks to scrapers. Looks great though!

The tank is looking good, as for the hose if it's hot and sunny lay it on the hood of the truck for a few, as for the the sand you better learn the HEIMLICH for GOBY'S

New toy came in the mail... Argyle wanted to go for a ride in the mail truck.

It's the exact same size as the SW2, which surprised me a bit. Advertised as up to 1000gph where the SW2 is 650gph.

I put it in the opposite corner as the SW2, and set both to full blast on the 'Else' mode and the fastest cycle on the rheostat. Else is completly random speeds, and it changes speeds quickly. The tank right now has up to 1650gph of flow and we haven't even hooked up the return pump. I seem to have lost two of those plastic jars of zip ties... back to Wal-mart. Guess I can get lunch on the way too.
