What should I treat it with? It is a dangerous fish, got my fingers just yesterday. It is eating well but staying on one corner.
I will donate it again as soon as if gets well. Probably last owner's water condition was not good. I hv done F.D when I got it. It does not react well with freshwater dip
If it is eating well that is a good sign and you have time to treat. Velvet is most commonly treated with a copper medication. I recommend Fritz Coppersafe, It is what ive always treated my fish with, including several species of trigger fish. First you need to do a freshwater bath to buy you some more time, Take some fresh water, must be dechlorinated, and heat it to the temp of the tank. Place the trigger into the fresh water for at least 3 minutes but no more than 5. I also recommend using an air stone in the fresh water to ensure proper oxygenation.
You can forgo the fw dip if you want, but you need to get it into medicated water as soon as you can.
It is breathing fine. Can it be itch? Last time I battled velvet , fish were breathing fast. It had lympho from biggining that I know

Be aware that if this tank has any rock or sand, both of those will absorb copper so you will need to constantly test the copper strength. They will also leach copper once the medication period is over.
Just 2 dry rocks. Luckily qt was empty so I'll only hv to treat it or can I do f.d and drain all water and put again? Medics are very difficult to find here

This is NOT velvet but rather ich based on size of dots and symptoms. Please be careful with advise given as you will be treating for something that is not present. Having had one myself many years ago, they are susceptible to ich. Based on its temperament, it is hard to give this type of fish away as pretty as it is.This trigger has came back to me 6th time in 2 years. I tried hard to donate it but this time it is itching, anal coming out and has cloudy eyes. It is in 60 gallon tank and is only fish their. Also cloudy fins.

As Stated, either way, ich and velvet are treated exactly the same, with the exact same medication. My consensus for velvet was the eye, ich does not affect the eyes in the way velvet does. I will always yield to your expertise in these cases but my advise was not wrong. And having dealt with velvet over many species of triggers, it presented exactly as that.
They treat similar but have different life cycles and one is a parasite while the other is actually a flagellate. I appreciate you and others who are willing to help but poor or wrong advice will take ones' tank down which Ive seen numerous times and over 40 years of doing this, ive seen may tragedies occur from wrong advice.
Thank u so much. It is a qt and my display is full so I may not add another fish so I think I can keep qt empty for that time. Thinking of shifting fish from there. I also had to shift my selfin tang which I added 4 days ago to my display for suppervission. I think undy may hv carried itch but still.. I was thinking of itch so no worries. Thanks to everyone
I am very inclined to agree with you, my simple point was, you disagreed with my diagnosis, which is completely fine. But you said treating for something that may not be there. Which may very well be the case, but the treatment is exactly the same to a T. No different in treatment protocol either velvet or ich. Only difference is the speed in which it kills a fish. Same fallow period, same treatment period. Im genuinely not trying to argue with you, I just think you implied that the advise I gave was wrong and would hurt this fish more, when it was essentially the same thing, and I stated if it wasnt velvet, then it could be ich, which wouldnt matter because treatment is the same.
