Wow. Lots to catch up on your build. Glad to see that everything has now come together for you with the cube. Everything looks great and it's nice when all of the parts and pieces finally come together.
I agree with you that there may be a titch too much rock in there, but then again, I've always been a fan of more open scapes instead of the rock wall look. Either way, the key is how it looks once the corals are in there so I wouldn't worry too much about it at this point. Things always look completely different once they start getting covered.

raise your alk , it should help alot . and if its really bad you can pull it straight out. immediately take hat you grabbed out of the tank. basically one pinch at a time to minimize any pieces from escaping from your fingers. you can also pull some rocks out and scrub it with a fresh tooth brush and clean them in some salt mixture. i had a bad bloom in my 28 gallon. raising alk and a couple sessions of picking , it cleared up a bunch. tanks lookin tight
