Good afternoon everyone!

I am looking to upgrade my lights after being in the hobby for a little over 3 years.

I am getting into sticks and my 2 AI primes over my tank are just to loud when running at higher wattage and aren't cutting it when it comes to what I want to push for par.

I found a gently used 2.5 year old reefbreeders photon v2 pro 24 in for 300 bucks but am hesitant buying used to be honest.

I am also looking at the new AI Edge 44s and then using the AI primes to be accent lights and boost par.

I am wanting to upgrade in around a year from my 3 foot long reef to a 6 footer as well.

Neither of these lights by themselves will cut a 6 foot tank but I will be adding to the lights down the road to get more coverage.

Just want to spread out the cost of upgrading to a 6 foot reef over the next year or so.

What do y'all think is best and what do you think of the new Edge 44 and 68?

What's your PAR goal throughout the tank, and what do you want to grow specifically? AI primes aren't gonna give you much penetration in a deep tank, so you're right to upgrade if you want SPS anywhere but up top under the lights.

Have you considered noopsyche? if you're on a strict budget, you can't beat the PAR and functionality for the money, and you could get multiple for way less than a single "designer" fixture: https://noopsychereeflight.com/products/k7-pro-iii-full-set-aquarium-led-coral-light
