Upgrading my tank by 1200%

So I was informed by the Mario brothers press secretary that they no longer do plumbing so they can focus on their professional gocart career  so I hope my piping doesn't leak. Anyway here it is all doped up and clamped.

Just gotta wait a couple hours for it to cure to I can do a water test. Also should I glue stand pipes?

Time to do some plumbing. I will also be changing out the herbie overflow piping the tank came with for a durso overflow setup.
I think you have this backwards...you went from a durso to a herbie

Umm so I did
I was like why would you go from a Herbie to a durso? Then saw your pics.

I wish I could have found a brand new 120g for about $500. Everyone around me wanted $700 or so and I couldn't justify it. So I spent $200 and had a guy buff out all the scratches in the front glass. Sides are still kind of beat up but I'll compromise

Yeah it was a good deal, marineland was running a sale when I bought it

I paid $730 for my new 180 , they wanted $350 for the 120 but it’s to small for me. It took for ever to find that deal tho.

Dude, invest in a couple brute trash cans, 1/2" flex hose and a maxi jet 1200. Save ur back! Let the pump carry the water up there!

I have what I need coming from BRS to fill the tank from my RO/DI system. More just making sure the bulkheads don't leak and being able to say the tank is wet

I had a hard time believing, the man building this amazing tank, was filling her up with 5g buckets! Killer thread

Thanks glad you're enjoying it

I did end up filling the overflow with water to check the bulkhead seals. No leaks overnight. And to check level, it's level front to back and left to right

Well after all that I only got about 100 gallons out of my RO/DI system before the DI resin got nuked. Ordered the specrtapure max cap di cartridge to see if I get better performance until I can get my system set up properly

Back in business and making good water. This new filter is also a lot bigger than the old one. It's a 10"x4" cartridge where the old one was 10x2.5

Getting closer to being full, and on a positive note it seems the water district changed their water source as the TDS from the tap is half what it was.
