I’m currently running an eshopps S-120 on my 130g system with a 90g display tank with what I would call a moderate to heavy bioload. A LFS near me has a barely used reef octopus 110SSS space saving skimmer for sale. The rating online says 60gal heavy bioload, 90 medium, 130 light. I would go with something bigger but my 20g long DIY main sump only has space for something of similar physical size to my current skimmer. Has anyone used the RO 110SSS, and does it work well on systems of this size?

I am a big Reef Octopus fan and have several of their skimmers, but the SSS model that I have is finicky. Additionally, your sump seems small for your system. I have to ask if you can get 8" of water depth (the standard preferred depth for most skimmers) and still have room for the the overflow of water from your display tank when the power goes out?

Oh yeah I have all that worked out, 8” is what i normally keep it at for my current skimmer as it is. Thanks for bringing that up tho, I appreciate you looking out for me like that :)

I think a Lifereef should be in play.
