Vermatid Snails........????

I have had vermatid snails in my tank for a few years and was wondering if anyone has a way to get rid off them besides taking tank apart.

You could try to snap them off and scrape them. I as well have been battling a problem with them everywhere. It seems not much of anything will take care of them (from what I've read) Someone had some luck with a copperbanded butterfly if I remember correctly. He started smashing them and the copperband ate them as he went.

I literally have them everywhere so it would be impossible to get all of them. I wish there was a type of crab that would eat them.

I agree, I as well have them everywhere. I don't even know where I would start.

I believe some wrasses eat them.....if they can get to them. I have them and believe my melanurus wrasse eats the ones he can get to.

Same problem here. I tried to scrape them off but more just show right back up.

I used to have a ton of them when I was over feeding my tank. I cut down on the feedings and little by little they just died off. Now i cant even find one. I went from broadcast feeding my corals once a week to once a month and corals are still doing great but no more vermatid snails.

I can't wait to start a whole new tank one day so I can get all new rock and then cook this rock and clean it

I've been plugging them into their holes with reef glue. It's made an impactful difference.

Not really. If you break off the tubes and expose the worms, then most Halichoeres wrasses will eat them. But short of some manual intervention, the tube does the job of protecting the worm as intended. ;)
