vodka vs Food

hey i was thinking the other day how much food is too much food. im dosing vodka and ive been dosing about 8 ml of it in for my 90g tank. but i feed my fish once a day, 6 cubes(2 brine, 2 bloodworms, and 2 mysis shrimp). i have no n's and phosphates are almost completely gone (test kit may not be that accurate but the algae grows very slow now or not at all. is that too much food just wondering how much people feed there fish when they are dosing vodka.

in laymen's term when u dose vodka it reduces nitrates and phosphates and its taken out by the skimmer.

it also gives you crystal clear water and better coloration for corals, but everyone has their own results from it. some people live by vodka and other think its the worst thing that happened to your tank. do research and try it out you just have to have patience slowly increasing the dosage for it.

i was always taught to feed about as much food as all ur fish could consume in about 10 min...but u wanna make sure all the food gets eatin otherwise it rots behind the rocks and causes nitrates etc. i would thaw ur food out in a cup and slowly add it to the tank to make sure the fish are eating it all. then dump a lil more...etc etc

I feed 3 times a day sometimes more. I feed Rods food once or twice per day, Spectrum pellets once or twice per day, a piece of nori every other day. I don't target feed due to my in tank dsb and everything that hits it almost immediately is pulled under by the worms and other stuff under there. I use a Hanna meter and test for Phosphates to let me know my upper limits of feeding. My tank usually runs in the .03-.05 range for phosphates.

but 8ml seems like alot on a 90gal... My maintenance dose is 2.6ml on a 240gal system...
I test with a Hanna and I'm at 0 I feed once a day pellets or a frozen cube...

Assuming your fish and/or corals are eating the food and it's not going to waste, and all your parameters are at good levels, then no it's not too much food.

my maintenance on a 105 gallon (75DT/30 sump) system is 4ml. I was at 6ml till the N & P dropped. I think it has a lot to do with how much we feed. I was only feeding once a day and I initially hit 4ml to get my N & P down. I bumped up feedings and had to bump up my v.
