So I'm just finishing up a 35 gallon water change on my 180 and I plug the external pump back in and my thermometer got sucked in! I had to remove the pump to get it out and it was broken...some small glass shards got into the tank. Should I be a little worried or very worried? My stocking list is...

Desjardini Sailfin Tang

Niger Trigger

Porcupine Puffer

Powder Blue Tang

3 Hermit crabs

I think you should be okay as long as the fish don't go after It. Can you see the glass Inside the tank? If so remove what you see.

I was thinking the same thing but just wanted to get some more opinions. And I looked but couldn't see it...I saw the direction it went in but the pieces are too small

Thanks

I'd not worry about the glass, not unless you can visibly see it.

Only thing I worry if you cutting yourself by sticking your hand in the sand for maintenance. There are some very sharp objecst in the tank including some rock edges, some corals (or coral skeleton) as well as some sand/crushed coral, or broken shell pieces. You fish will not be eating glass and the glass is no sharper than a piece of broken shell so you shouldn't worry for the fish. But probably wear gloves in the near future if you need to dig into the tank just in case.

I never really put my hand in the sand bed but I'll make sure to be careful if I do!
