That’s awesome you won the light!!

Following. :)
Yeah I think it's just too big though, going to try to sell it and maybe upgrade the Evo lid and light.

I had to remove my peppermint shrimp because it was eating my mini maxi anemone and RFA. Hoping this was why the others died, only have 1 RFA left and it's looking rough. The mini maxi anemone seems pretty tough I just hope it'll settle into a spot.

Here's a couple recent pics.

Trying to add a little color with some new corals. The clowns aren't fighting so bad now, but they aren't lovey like the last mated pair I had yet.
Hopefully these all like it here. Soon as the weather stabilizes around 70 I'll get my purple BTA.

Any chance it was the shrimp bugging all of them all along? I have found the RFAs to be tougher customers than BTAs, but not 100%. I had a few melt on me, never was sure why. Also, was this tank set up just late last year? (So 'tis about 8 +- months mature)? You may be getting close to the point where you could try nems.

Yeah I suppose it is possible the shrimp was the problem all along. I figured it was my tank.

Yes it is 8+ months old, I think I started it just before Christmas last year.

I've always loved RFA's so I doubt I give up completely, but for now I'm going to move on from that dream.
I will say this (you probably already know this) but RFAs glow wonderfully under dawn/dusk UV lighting (AI prime, etc). Much more so than even a healthy green BTA.
I loved how mine looked until they melted away. They've probably been in my want/need list since I started this little dream up.

I think using dry rock also extends the maturing cycle a bit. My tank is coming up on two years and the dry rock still looks nothing like the live rock I put in my 7.5 cube just a couple months ago. You could always order some live rock from GulfLiveRock.com (small amount) just to seed your tank with some Coraline and maybe other critters (good and bad.....I am curing my rock and dipping in hyper saline water before adding any livestock other than a damsel).

As much as I wanted to do something like this when I started up, Im not brave enough to try it now lol.

I'm excited to say I finally ordered some pom pom crabs! Due for delivery next Wednesday!

Nice set up. I have the same tank and light for a nem cube as well. Love it. Have been debating on a nero 3 for mine. Where did you get the nem guard from?

Thanks, I'm glad I went with the waterbox.

@ocpondpoacher made the model/design and my brother 3-d printed it for me.

It's on here somewhere, I'll find it.

Hey Matt, I haven't seen your tank in a while. It's looking good and the color you chose for the guard is awesome.

Thanks, I couldn't be happier with how the cover turned out! Thanks again, awesome job man!

I spotted one of the 3 pom pom crabs out exploring tonight, with one pom pom. Saw another tucked up under all the rocks but I'm pretty excited to have them in here.

At least one of the crabs still has 2 pom poms, very excited about that!

Added a bta which looks great! It's attached and seems to be tucked in pretty tight, hoping it stays happy and the clowns figure out and host it.

Shrooms aren't looking the best but the others are fine so not sure about that.

Couple pics.

BTA stayed in same area but has moved up a little and seems to be doing well!

I was starting to get worried because every night around 8:00 it would deflate. It seems so be a normal thing so now all I need to do is convince the clowns to host, or vise versa.... whatever it is lol.

My mushrooms still aren't very happy but just about everything else is doing well.
