Nice and simple! I like it lol.. basically what I got going on but my bacto balance still won’t stay on line I need to figure out where I got a pin hole leak that keeps breaking suction.
That sucks, Sorry your having troubles with that. I just actually hooked back up my old letermeter for dosing ammonia, I ran it for a week in a graduated cylinder to make sure it was doing what I wanted, Its old I didnt trust it but it worked perfect.
Yeah… I just dose bacto balance here or there by hand when I think about it which once a week at best lol.
Thats what I was doing with ammonia, go down first thing in the morning before work scoop some out splash it in the sump and try and not forget to do it again later after work. But I was forgetting at least morning and sometimes afternoon everyday lol
You gotta be careful doing ammonia in a single shot as the nitrifying bacteria build up quickly to take it out! The corals don’t get fed that way from what I read.. you want a slow and steady dose of ammonia all day to keep the bacteria from consuming it.

BRS Soda Ash (Alk) - ~65mL/day to keep it at 8.5 dkH
BRS Calcium Carbonate (Cal) ~65 mL/day to keep it at 450 ppm
BRS Magnesium (Mag) ~5 mL every 2 weeks or so, Mag has been holding steady at 1530
Acropower - ~20mL/week dosed at once
Moonshiners Iodine - 9 drops
Moonshiners Manganese 1.5 mL/day
Moonshiners Chromium - 0.2 mL/day
Moonshiners Cobalt - 0.2 mL/day
Moonshiners Iron - 0.1 mL/day
Moonshiners Vanadium - 2 drops
Moonshiners Selenium - 0.2 mL/day

I'm extremely impressed with Moonshiners and how the corals are just flat out growing FAST. The ICP's aren't too bad if you buy 3 months in advance and then just stage them across 1-1.5 months. The upfront cost for the elements is probably the most expensive, but then again, nothing is cheap in a reef tank.
It’s gonna take a lot to sell me on moonshine lol! I see everyone ranting and raving about it but then I look at grow out contest and as far as I know not a single moonshiner has beat a regular water change reefer yet! I’m cheap and I’m simple!
Should I use np bacto balance if my nitrates are low(1.5) and good phosphate (.06)?
It def won’t hurt! The good thing about bacto balance is it contains n03 and p04 to keep your tank from bottoming out.. if you like your numbers it will lock them basically. Just go slow it doesn’t take much!
