Clowns will be hosted by whatever they decide. (powerheads, corals, corner of tank....)
I think this is pretty much the answer. I've seen them host tons of things, and among the list, zoas should be included...

I got a small maroon clown about a year ago and she immediately started hosting in my bubble coral within about 10 minutes. I have had my bubble for about a year before that and it’s huge. At first I was worried that she would make the bubble mad but hey truly have a great relationship. When I am cleaning the tank or another fish comes near the bubble she gets very mad and keeps ‘us’ away. She also cleans the debris and sand off. She will also take bits of frozen food pieces back to the coral for it to eat when I’m feeding the tank. When I have guests to my house, they all comment on how happy she seems and how cute it is when she nestles down in the bubble coral. I have never had an anemone in my tank it I fell as if it’s the closest to this that I could achieve. Cheers!

I got a Maroon Clown about a year ago and within 10 minutes she decided to hunker down in my bubble coral. I was worried when she did and thought she would make the bubble angry since the bubble would get mad and shrink down when I got the mag float near it and disrupted the flow and considered it a ‘sensitive and reactive’ coral. To my surprise it has been the perfect relationship. When I’m feeding frozen foods, she will bring pieces to the bubble and feed it. She will also keep sand and debris off the coral. When I am cleaning the glass or another fish is getting close to the bubble, she will remind us that this is not a part of the tank that is welcome to others. My other favorite part of this relationship is that whenever I have people to my house, they comment on how cute it is that she keeps herself snug into the bubble coral. I have never had an anemone in my tank but I cant imagine it would be a better relationship! Of course, I’m sure very fish is different. Just my 2 cents.

after a month or so, it seems like mine are content to just swim at this point...... haven't made anything a 'home' yet.

My clowns love my torch. As odd as it sounds, one even hosted a Montipora. It loved that spot, even though the polyps are tinier than dust
