What do you guys use to feed your reef?

Let us know in the comments!

I recently purchased The Plank (about a 1.5 months ago) and I really like the reef jerky mix. I feed 8x per day for 15-20 seconds of runtime.

I have purchased my own mixture of freeze dried food to make my own mixture when I run out of the reef jerky simply because I could get a MASSIVE amount of food for the same cost.

I do feed LRS Reef Frenzy once a month and when I do that I also add Vita-Chem, Coral Aminos, KZ Coral Love, and some Nyos liquid stuff (can’t remember the name off the top of my head).

I personally like the idea of making my own fish & coral food. I’ve made my own frozen food and my fish go bat crazy for it. The thing I don’t like about LRS Reef Frenzy there are some chunks in the mixture that my small fish simply can not eat so I am required to use a turkey baster to suck it up.

that interesting!! thanks for info!

Mysis, only have two fish right now. My banggai only eats mysis and my starry blenny will eat anything but there's plenty of film algae around the reef for him so I've stopped feeding algae flakes, only mysis.
what kind of mysis? dried or frozen?

Frozen PE mysis, Rods original. Formula 1 and two pellets, DKi pellets, sustainable aquatics hatchery diet pellets, NLS optimum flakes. I discovered the flake is the only non frozen food my CBBs will eat. I'm heavy on the frozen and mix the pellets and flake in with the frozen and I add selcon and vitachem a few times a week. I was also feeding reef roids once a week but I ran out and now I'm trying benereef.

I believe in diversity, art night I rotate frozen, mysis brine and Reef Frenzy. In the morning TDO pellets, PE flakes and Reef jerk. All frozen and the flakes are soaked in Selcon, Vitachem and garlic extreme. Pods are added every few months.

we do the same!

We used frozen mysis for our fish!

Do jarred foods like Pods, Mysis, or Roe contain more phosphates than frozen or pellet foods?

Do jarred foods like Pods, Mysis, or Roe contain more phosphates than frozen or pellet foods?
Yes, jarred foods like Pods, Mysis, and Roe often have more phosphates than frozen or pellet foods. That’s because they’re packed in liquid that contains dissolved nutrients, including phosphate.
Frozen food: Moderate phosphates, but rinsing helps reduce it.
Pellets: Lowest phosphate risk, but uneaten bits can still cause issues.
